Finepress is free to convert PDFs, read, keep marks, export and back up your books, and you do not need an account for any of it. Finepress Pro adds more sync storage, recovery of deleted books, and tools for repairing conversions and working with your library. Pro costs US$9.99 a month or US$79 a year, and every account can try it for 14 days without a card.

What does Finepress Free include?

Everything you need to turn a file into a book, read it and keep it.

• Convert PDFs to EPUB in your browser, with OCR for scanned pages in English and simplified Chinese
• Open EPUBs, DRM-free Kindle files (MOBI, AZW, AZW3) and TXT files
• Read with marks, notes and bookmarks, and search your whole library
• Organize books with shelves, tags and series
• Download any book as an EPUB, export marks as Markdown or JSON, and back up or restore the whole library
• An optional free account that syncs your books, places and marks between devices, encrypted in your browser first. It holds 250 MiB of books, each up to 50 MiB.

Nothing on this list moves to Pro. If you stop paying for Pro, you keep all of it.

What does Pro add?

More room to sync, a way to get a deleted book back, and tools for the work around your books. The tools run on your device.

• Sync storage: 10 GiB of encrypted storage, with books up to 200 MiB each.
• Deleted books: a synced book you delete can be restored for 30 days, with its marks and notes.
• No inactivity removal: Finepress removes an account after 365 days without activity. That rule is paused while Pro is active.
• Repairs: fix a conversion that came out wrong. You correct chapters, headings, the contents, image descriptions, captions and text in a separate draft of the EPUB, and review each change.
• Finding and organizing: search by related words as well as exact ones, and save shelves that fill themselves from rules about tags, reading state and author.
• Marks: review your marks one passage at a time on a schedule, learn words you found in your marks, and export marks as a CSV table or a folder for Obsidian.
• Your reading: a summary of progress, reading time, reading days and marks, made from records already on your device.
• Library checks and transfer: find likely duplicate editions, missing details and large files, and bundle a book with its cover and details for Calibre or for copying to an e-reader over USB.

What you make with these tools, such as review schedules and saved rules, stays in the browser where you made it. It does not sync between devices yet.

How much does Pro cost?

US$9.99 a month or US$79 a year. Prices are in US dollars, and sales tax is added where the law requires it.

The founding price is a yearly price for early subscribers. It is kept for as long as they stay subscribed. When Finepress offers it, the plans in the app show it in place of US$79. If a price changes, subscribers are told by email at least 30 days before their next renewal.

How does the trial work?

Each Finepress account can try Pro free for 14 days, once. No card is needed, and nothing is charged when the trial ends.

• The trial needs a free Finepress account.
• Finepress sends one email reminder a few days before the trial ends.
• If you subscribe during the trial, the days left are added to your first billing period.

To start the trial or subscribe, open Finepress and press Pricing at the foot of the shelf.

Can I cancel, or get a refund?

Yes. You can cancel at any time, and you can have a full refund within 14 days of any payment.

• Cancel in Finepress under Account, Manage plan, or from the link in your receipt. Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and you are not charged again.
• The refund window covers your first payment and every renewal. You do not need to give a reason. Write to [email protected] from the email address on your account.
• A refund ends Pro on that account.
• When Pro ends, your account returns to Free and nothing is deleted. If your books take more space than Free allows, they stay where they are, and new uploads wait until there is room.

Who takes the payment?

Our payment provider. It is the merchant of record: it takes the payment, charges any tax, sends the receipt, and is the name on your card statement. Finepress never sees your card number. The privacy notice says what Finepress receives.
